Yeah, I'm really bad with lies too. Interviews can be really tough. I've always struggled with them. But the interviewer is a person too and especially if you're applying for like maybe an overnight stocking job, they can be forgiving. I don't think you have to lie, necessarily. I'd just try to skirt around answering directly and emphasize your willingness to work. It's probably not great but I'd probably say something like "time just got away from me after I graduated high school but I'm really wanting to start working now and doing something with myself". Also mention why you want to work at the place. There's also some jobs where you don't have to interview really. Like FedEx or Amazon. Although they might a bit too physically demanding for you. And this isn't a dig or anything but have you ever thought that you could be actually autistic? You sound a lot like me where it comes to people and I'm pretty sure that's my deal. Because you're absolutely not stupid and can communicate through text just fine. But it seems like face to face communication is really difficult for you.
