Its easier to think of it as they have no self esteem at all, like the traditional definition of a narcissist, and that they get esteem from externalities. They may have accumulated some from all the positive attention so as to have base expectations but they are easy to trick and bamboozle as thats the basis for how mediocre people reproduce.
