Chivalry was a social contract. Men died in wars and disasters such as this but in return females had to be docile housewives. Women didn't like that and wanted to be equal to men, so now they can reap the rewards of true equality.

Back then the people that made new life, fed it and raised it were always more important than the seed holders.
