actually no, well not if there is a big war like WW3, in fact being drafted will be the least of your problems.
it won't happen anytime soon though but if it did.
alot of units are undermanned combined with the recruiting crisis that is ongoing.
when i was in my branch was the only one that made numbers but even then we ran through people like it was nothing even then our units didnt have proper manpower alot of the time.
the guard is a actively deployed force despite being technically reserves so they are counted in that as well.
The reserves and IRR aren't like a healthpack used to replenish the military or anything i don't know what gave you that idea lol.
you could stoploss the shit out of people but again those units are still undermanned.
if the recruiting crisis isn't fixed and something pops off to where the US needs to use its full military weight there will probably be a draft of some kind. But right now despite all the doom and gloom...nothing ever happens as they say

I'm pretty sure the military knows it's easier to pull in inactive and reserves than to draft a unwilling population. Especially when public trust is at it's lowest. Civilians would only be drafted if the Russians were in France and the Chinese took a lot of southeast Asia or some shit. Oh also all the cornfed southern boys enlisting over god and country would probably keep the rest of us out of the draft list anyway.

again, the military doesn't pull IRR and reserves as like a reinforcement the way you're thinking about it, they are less trained and deployment ready so they are used to fill in gaps undermanned but more skilled, battle-space units can't fill at the moment. kinda like professional conscripts of sorts.

Look at the fields of Ukraine, I think they managed to conduct the first battle using solely unmanned systems, we don't need much men anymore, or atleast not enough to warrant a draft of any kind, war my guess is unmanned ground robots and fpv drones melt everything, an infantry platoon moves in and sets up camp, sweep up whatever was left, then uses fpv drones and ground robots to patrol everywhere.
