We made gains in WW1, despite our having worse casualties than in WW2.
WW2 was disastrous for us and was totally unnecessary. We could never have protected Poland, and we had bit off more than we could chew. The French knew that they never had the stomach for a second war, but we dragged them in anyway and they collapsed. The British and French lost all credibility with their empires, considering how the Germans and Japanese swept through and conquered the colonies.
Sadly, we had to rely on burgerland to bail us out, and they are very anti-Empire, even though they've essentially had one since 1898. With friends like the burgers, who needs enemies? It's clear, even on 4chan, that they generally despise us. Even if FDR wanted to join the war over the objection of the burger people, hence why they let the Japs attack. The burgers were very happy to see the end of the British, French and Dutch Empires after WW2. We were bankrupt.
Sadly, we all had to deal with the red beasts during the Cold War, which was another awful foreign policy blunder (as was not nuking the reds into surrender before 1949). Clearly, the West should have allied with the Germans against the reds. Instead, they saved the reds and let communism spread into eastern Europe, China and North Korea. The communist death toll is about a hundred million, almost all of that in peace-time.
So with the post-1945 globalism, the black-listing of nationalism, open borders getting even worse after the end of the Cold War, and the elites selling out to Red China's slave state in 2001, Britain and the West are totally fucked. De-industrialization and outsourcing to slaves has been an utter disaster.
