The universe is conscious and watching you, your phone and devices are all watching you, you probably have an uncovered camera on your phone facing you right now, your metadata is all being fed to algorithms to predict and model you, and spiritual entities exist and are watching you. Why would you not feel watched? Nothing you do is private.

i knew two psychotic people in school and they were very fundamentally different from me in ways i cant recognize in myself

I spent a lot of time with a now-diagnosed schizophrenic (ASD diagnosed much earlier in his life) over the course of a few years and had the opportunity to watch his descent around his early twenties, he trusted me a fair amount so I got to hear a lot of his delusions progress. He was always very studious and polite with me while being completely unmedicated, you'd never have guessed in a passing interaction or three.
