way back in 2008 I saw someone browsing it in a lecture hall, I think it was a programming class. my university had a system of residential colleges and one of them was where all the nerdy kids went, and every single person I met there was 4chan-adjacent.

1)troon in my class at community college (regularly spotted them using it)
2)Real fat neckbeard in a poetry class in college. He was really abrasive and constantly call people poems in the class cowardly. He was always arguing for hobbeanism and calling people statist.
