As long as he is drinking water and getting some electrolytes, he'll be fine. The issue is that starvation isn't a good way to lower bf%. His body will catabolize muscle over fat. His metabolism will slow to a crawl. When he starts eating again, he'll gain weight back quickly. The best way is just eat healthy, only substracting 500 calories from his TDEE, and working out (mostly lifting weights, but cardio as well.) People like him are fucking morons. We know from centuries of experience this shit doesn't work very well.
