It really isn't. Here in the west, people think socialism = command economy, but under capitalism every business is its own little command economy. Your boss tells you what your job is and how much you'll be paid for it and if you don't like it your only real alternative is to exile yourself. Businesses aren't command economies because they ultimately respond to market signals. If consumers are only buying blue shoes, businesses won't continue making red ones. A command economy would have businesses continue to make red ones and consumers have no choice except to buy those.
