There's this often repeated quote:

This is why they're trying to eliminate the intellectual middle class and replace them with software first, because they demand more out of life than the creatures at the bottom. They have a higher carbon foot print, they eat more, they want high quality meat, they want a lot of free time, they are intelligent enough to represent their interests, strong enough to spill the blood of any elite, et cetera, they are more than mere livestock. They are a lot of trouble to rule over and exploit, historically speaking.
The people at the bottom aren't, they can be forced to work manual labor for 12 hours at gunpoint and sustain themselves on a bowl of lentils and rice and they will keep reproducing, because they CAN function as livestock and if not, the global south has an infinite amount of them to replace what is lost.
