I moved around a lot, so I went to multiple schools, and it was all the same thing. I even made friends with the preppy party chads/stacies a couple of
schools and there was always a handful of them that played pokemon or had the cards. I fairly frequently would wear pokemon shirts to school, specifically that orange one with a Charizard on it, as did other kids and no one ever got bullied for it.
Pokemon has been hyper normie for easily 20 years.
