>mom nags me to go back to college
>concede
>try to register
>its a convoluted bureaucratic mess
>finally able to register for classes
>make a schedule
>hit submit
>hold off on paying tuition for now but my class schedule seems to be saved and it says I'm registered to take them
>classes start tomorrow
>double check class schedule to see what I'm doing tomorrow
>nothing is there
>all of the classes are full

I'm currently desperately searching for open classes that align with my old schedule but almost everything is full. I think i'm fucked.

I guess thats it.
A) lie to my parents about going to school this semester, just hang out in my car for 3 hours a day
B) Tell my mom the truth and she goes ballistic and I lose all personal privacy including the door to my bedroom probably
C) Find some other classes to take
C1) tell the truth and tell her I managed to get some credits in this semester anyway and face giant crash out but probably smaller
C2) Lie and tell her I decided to change my classes at the last minute
C3) gaslight her into believing that this was always the schedule I told her I was taking
C4) lie and tell her that I guess I guess I was confused about my own schedule

Why the fuck are college websites and systems stuck in the fucking 60's?

I'm glad I'm not alone. Seriously though, why the fuck are there systems this shit? It was the same when I went the first time back in 2018. Even the Uni's have the same shitty systems and UI.

I dropped out of college for enrolling late at 18, had issues getting in my prerequisite classes like english and math and just said fuck it cause my brother was murdered that year and I was not happy. Never considered going back, and i'm 33 years old.

Get your money back, and next semester enroll/register earlier at the end of this semester and get your classes to being there only 2 days of the week.

I think my biggest mistake was not paying tuition right away so there's no money to get back. This is probably what fucked me. I'm such a fucking idiot.

You gotta do C1-C4.
>tell her you got dropped from one class due to administrative bs
>tell her you switched one of your classes to another
>tell her one of them is different than what she thought it was
>tell her you were mixed up about one of your classes
Clusterfuck and you look like a retard still but this is your own fault

Not to give you too much hope, but why not just attend the classes you were planning to attend tomorrow. When you're not on the rosters, go to the admins or whatever, tell them what happened, be ready to pay for them now. Schools can definitely override class capacities, they did it for me several times.

Well I managed to fill my schedule again. Honestly I was just trying to dip my toes into going to college again as its been 7 years. I might try that but then I risk not attending the classes I just scrambled together.

So of course it all depends on how well that current schedule suits your goals. Hopefully your new set of classes isn't completely useless? In that case you have an honest position that's pretty sympathetic: "Hey Mom, the registration process was weird and I missed my first choices. Here's the classes I got and why I'm taking them, and needless to say I'll be on top of this bullshit next semester."

I don't know how people get through school without falling asleep or spending the whole time scribbling on their papers, I don't know how I passed highschool and I don't think I'll ever finish college.
School just makes me want to commit suicide and I'd rather continue working a dead end job.

Welcome to higher education. A boomer once told me that employers don't care about your grades, they just want a certificate showing that you consistently respected deadlines and navigated bureaucracy for at least a couple of years

Actually taking classes isn't eve the hard part. Its setting it all up, navigating the credit system to get a degree and everything else. I'm just realizing there is an entire job market built off getting people through college. The fact that colleges are required to have counselors just so that students can manage to navigate through their systems is pretty retarded dystopian shit.

at least try, get on the waitlist and go to class
talk to the professor about it, sometimes they'll be nice

I'm going with plan B for now.

I'm taking history instead of English and psychology instead of math. Math is a bummer because I did want to re-study it.

I already have some credits and classes under my belt from when I dropped out of college, one of them being English so its fine.

I'm locking in next semester though and I'm going for a two year program. Not sure for what but something that will hopefully get me a job and make me a ton of money.
