does anyone have advice for communicating. I make it awkward and cant pivot. I also stumble my words but i think that last point will be fixed with practice.

I think talking is a waste of time in general, but with that thought so is art and human experience in general. Im still willing to try even if it kills me because i realy have nothing better to do. I do understand this but ive sat in silence too long with no results for that to be a valid choice.

there's a bunch of silly people on vr chat, it's a game for roleplaying and playing make belief.
that's what the phantom sense stuff is about, they're just taking the make belief to an other level, i've thought about playing the game, but it's just too carefree and resurrected childhood spirit of play for me. i'm too self conscious to relax and play make belief, and if you are too then you're not going to have fun in vr chat. i still have the game though, maybe one day i will let loose and play pretend.

It can be chill, but I get where your coming from. Does feel serious at time resulting in a virtual reality game feeling stressful. I havent explored to much but i have met people who felt real, i dunno im not a social expert and they could of been fooling me.
It triggers my anxiety as well which is why for the first couple of day I just watched.
If you dont want to interact with roleplayers just dont, treat it like a game with vc and join another world.

I was chatting with a couple friends in VRC just now and both have infinitely more romantic and sexual experience than me and are nearly 10 years younger than me.
