Find someone to cling on to and devote your life to keeping them happy.

They don't if their lives aren't pampered or easy from birth/spoiled.

They just have substance abuse problems that are socially normal: food addiction/overweight/obese, work addiction, TV/games addiction, casual sex or fetishes, porn/erotica/romance novel addiction, sports addiction, gambling addiction, etc. all tickle the same brain spot that regular drugs of abuse do

Some people are born with enough good chemicals in their brain that they don't need drugs

Some people are fulfilled and happy.

I envy those people

Those people just never suffered, they were shielded from life by their loved ones or wealth or just got lucky. I've never even met a McDonald's employee who wasn't at least hitting a vape between orders. Everyone who has to deal with bullshit will end up coping somehow. I include 12 hour game sessions and eating a whole box of twinkies as substance abuse too

You're crazy if you don't think people inherit depression, work ethic, reliability, etc

>i have people to live for
You need to be fully devoted to a single person. Elevate them to a god in your head. Every action, every thought, perfectly aligned towards them. That becomes an all consuming purpose for you and happiness manifests through it.
