Anons, why aren't more people talking about this? I'm sure it's not totally unprecedented, but it has never happened on this scale before.

Basically, stores are closing all over because shoplifting has gotten so bad that it's no longer profitable to keep the store open. It's not just grocery stores and it's not just small, independent retailers. It's huge chains like REI, Walmart, Whole Foods, etc.

Is America becoming a third world country? The social contract seems to have totally evaporated and antisocial behavior is kind of the norm now. We just can't have nice things like a grocery store I guess.

Bull fucking shit. Supermarket profit is up like 40% since the start of the pandemic. The price of everything doubled because of "supply chain issues" and never recovered after the pandemic ended. They have no intention of lowering their precious profits, they could give a FUCK if you starve on the street. The are a business out to make a profit, not a food pantry.

Nationalize all supermarket chains and make them more efficient and affordable. Take out all the slop processed foods and bury them with toxic waste under a mountain. Feed people good clean meat and fresh vegetables, and if they're poor give them food stamps so they don't starve. None of this is difficult or hard to figure out.
