would you say its gotten to the point where someone (for example me) should make a social platform where politics is banned? every social site is like 70%+ politics now and i hate it.

Censorship is cringe. All speech should be allowed in all social spaces so long as it isn't intentionally disruptive, like spam or trolling.

it is disruptive though, to other topics. because when you visit the social site and have to scroll 5 pages to find just one post that isn't political then you can not effectively use that app for any other topic

You arent allowed to make websites like it looks. Even this site is mostly written by professionals. The smaller sites are completely fake.

If everything around you is political then maybe you're the one failing to pay attention to something important, as opposed to everyone focusing on something that you think is unimportant. If you're looking for a space in which you're free of political discourse then you're foolish for thinking internet forums would be the right spot.

I really think all you need to do is aggressively ban bad faith arguing / debating tactics. And also overly emotional people who can't handle uncomfortable discussion. Ideally we would be able to talk about absolutely anything and everyone would be presenting evidence and discussing it rationally. Any attempt to force your opinion across would get you banned. It would be a very nice environment to collectively brainstorm in.

And of course this would also include samefagging and artificially inflating the prevalence of your ideas. It would automatically rate limit high frequency posters in a negative feedback loop to fight against the natural pareto distribution of replies.
