All you had to do was go to bars, which you would do anyways and enjoy, because that is the quintessential millenial/gen x social activity. gen z is the least alcoholic generation in the last several decades. We don't do that anymore, so we're less likely to socialize with the opposite sex, and less likely to have the (liquid) confidence to ask them out.
Also, women's standards were vastly lower back then. Social media wasn't as prevalent back then, and self improvement was not half as popular. The average zoomer is leagues more attractive than the average millenial was back when they were our age, just because the more the chads/stacys are seen (due to social media), the higher the expectancy for attractiveness is.
This combined with dating apps makes it so that women sleep with chads, believe that they are stacys (they're usually not), and end up only trying to date chad, when chad's only going to pump and dump them.
We're also the most socially anxious generation of the last several decades.
The men are more scared than ever before due to feminism, and, admittedly, our predecessor's creepy behavior.
