It makes sense in a hunter gathering standpoint ig. Back in caveman times, only the strongest men in both physical and mental qualities reproduced and passed their genes on. Plus men died a lot more frequently, whether that be from fighting some predator or a disease, we had to basically be at least a little horny 24/7 so we had a chance to pass our genes.
