It's 2025 and still, no one can explain how phenomenal experiences ("consciousness") can arise from arise out of material processes like those in the brain. Why? Why can no one explain consciousness? I thought science knew the answer to everything?

I put bread in the toaster and it comes out toasted. no one can explain why. obviously this means the toaster is divinely crafted by the god of the religion I grew up in and am most familiar with, of course. Blow your head off and ask yourself where your consciousness comes from.
