Something about 90s feels distinct. It wasnt as isolated from world since newspapers, tv and early internet existed but tech wasnt so encompassing that it drained away all life. People know more about what is happening on tiktok/X than their local city for most part. I cant really point it but 90s/ early 2000s were right mix of tech/real life where you can play video games or use early forums but not everyone was holding a mini computer on their pocket.

Game stop, blockbuster and even those ATM in Walmart where you can rent out blursy films. But now everything is so digitized that theres no need for physical media.
