i host irl auctions (namely a "rare artifacts auction" for things from previous centuries) and take a 20% cut. i schedule the auction like 2 months from now then promote it and hopefully at the appointed time enough people wanting to sell/buy will show up. can it work? irl auctions ARE a thing, so, why not? "customers" bring the products to me, i don't have to do anything except procure a physical location to host it in
