I feel insecure about being 22 and still living with mom and dad. then I remember that someone out there had done it "the right way". They have their car. They have their degree. They have their apartment. And can barely afford to be alive.
Yes they may have more sex than I ever will but that doesn't mean they're in a position to go all the way and become a parent. Even if by some circumstance they agree to have the child, they would only drown themselves in more financial struggle and drag the poor kid down with them.
Meanwhile my only real economic concerns are whether I'm getting paid enough to afford my Apple+ subscription. My parents are very reasonable people and I have a good relationship with them. I clean up around the house and stuff. They don't charge me rent at all.
My life has been very uneventful. It's a peaceful, complacent existence. The things is I feel like I'm being rewarded for being an actual bum while someone whose done all of the work is being punished. I don't know how I should think about this. pride? Gratitude? idk.
