I used to think this by default but a lot of the time the women's sex drive just plummets after marriage, especially after kids.

It depends on the reason why, I think a lot of women don't understand that men show attraction in different ways from them and take it as them not being attracted/only showing attraction to have sex, and slowly become resentful and whithold sex/physical affection until they see more effort or whatever.
Others just want to punish guys for not doing enough at home.

I think there are a lot of factors that go into a dead bedroom that I can't really judge. If she simply just can't be assed to fuck him, then that's no good, but I assume it's probably more complex than that.

I've never been in a relationship, so maybe my opinion will change, but I'd like to avoid that if possible. I understand that there'll be times where I'm tired and not feeling up to it, but surely in times like that I could just lay there and let him do what he needs to do. And even if my pussy is out of commission (periods, recovery from childbirth, whatever) I could probably at least blow him. It's only a few minutes out of my day, right? I can probably do that much to keep my partner happy. Though I also just have a high libido, and like the idea of being free use for my partner, so I'm probably a little biased.
