jupiter's cool. i wish the human race could get their shit together and finally figure out how to live on gas giants' moons and solid planets like mars without dying.

Thanks Jupiter for catching all those asteroids that would've collided with Earth otherwise. Thanks for being a big gravity well that isn't just the Sun.

jupiter could prove to become a massive resource well for whatever gases lie in there
and if we find a way to withstand the near stellar pressures and manage to reach the metallic hydrogen core, that'd be pretty dope too (even though i'm not sure what else it'd be used for other than superconductors)

I like Saturn better, but Jupiter's still cool ig. Europa is just an inferior version of Enceladus tho. Not to mention how Titan is kino af.

Metalic hydrogen is pretty cool and it's cool that they can create it in a lab now.
It's kind of funny how the entire earth understanding of how things function just don't apply in the universe. Apparently inside of Jupiter the distinction between a gas, liquid and solid isn't that clear cut any more and it's rather a case of the deeper you get, the more the hydrogen starts to behave like a solid metal, gradually.

There is, also Jupiter is primarily liquid, not gas, the hydrogen becomes a liquid under those pressures fairly early, even deeper down it becomes a solid and finally there is most likely a rocky core at the centre that isn't hydrogen.
