Sailor Moon is girly because they have real life issues instead of greater existential issues like a villain. Sailor Moon still has villains but they always take over by implementing some person issue like going to the gym or whatever else was the lesson of the week. Tokyo Mew Mew is more about fighting an evil villain.

What do you mean by Tokyo Mew Mew is more about fighting? I'm curious to hear you expand on that

I personally love Tokyo Mew Mew. It's a magical girl series where the girls get their powers from science basically, having their DNA fused with endangered species and they have to save the earth. It's about environmentalism

It's sad most don't talk about the show but it was my favorite growing up, along with popular ones like Sailor moon.

So am I a weirdo for finding Sailor Moon a more girly series than Tokyo Mew Mew, even if both are aimed at girls?
