Well, imo the internet should only be used for entertainment and pastimes, and for adults only. The internet as a necessity was a mistake. Regardless, it's good that your parents raised you well, and it shouldn't be illegal for kids to access the internet, but it should be common sense to monitor their activity on it. And it should be the parents responsibility. As far as the government is concerned, they should act as though kids could never access it in the first place and therefore no protections should be necessary.
