Anons I am so embarrassed. I got psy-op'd into collecting "physical media" by YouTube. I probably spent around $3k over the course of 18 months before I realized what I was doing.

The thing is, I don't even have any good movies. They're all "boutique" limited edition turds where it's an awful movie but the packaging and artwork is really cool.

I can't resell them because once the hype dies down, everyone forgets about them again and they will never sale. No one wants to spend $45 for a shitty B movie that was made in 1973. Plus there are already tons of them listed on ebay because we all bought due to FOMO and now we don't want it.

Well, people tend to go by market fundamentals when investing.
Basically, you only buy investments you don't mind holding onto.
that way if things don't go the way you planned, you still win because you can appreciate what you bought.

mindless consumption is not good.

Collecting physical media is about preservation. Torrenting digital copies for free serves the same purpose though. Streaming services will censor, edit, and remove anything that's deemed "unfit" by the corporations or government.

Really? Who's actually backing up their physical media, and why would you bother when you can torrent it? Having physical media is useless unless you use it, and then there's often the chance of it breaking. Every thing has a lifetime.

Not an especially big fan, why? Do you think you are owning the Jews by buying a bunch of pointless shit?

why eat? you'll just be hungry again. why clean? it'll just get dirty again. why sleep? you'll just be tired again. we might as well just kill ourselves now and get it over with.
