My uncle is a car mechanic with his own shop, he makes good monies in expense that his workers under him don't get paid well. Tradies only get well paid of if they work at an unionized job or work for themselves (and have guys under them) at least that's how it works where i live

If I was to summarize why society is set up that way its because people being the shitty selfish talking apes that they are, hate doing difficult physically demanding work that isnt considered fun or prestigious. So what is the method by which certain people can keep other people trapped in those positions while they live a life of ease and luxury?

Well let's first imagine what would happen if the opposite was the case. What if all the shitty difficult jobs were the high paying ones and the other 'fun' and easy jobs were the low paying ones. What would happen? People would do the shitty jobs until they had enough money to do whatever they wanted then they'd switch to a 'fun' job. You'd get a system where everyone was constantly rotating in and out of the shit jobs. Now this is all well and good but remember we live in the real world where money talks and things are organized differently.

So instead what ends up happening is that all the shitty jobs pay shit wages to basically keep the same class of people trapped doing them forever. While as you pointed out the relatively easy jobs pay a fortune that the shit job people can only look at with envy and tell themselves that one day they will work their way up to those jobs. But those well paying easy jobs are few and far between and they are jealously guarded. So you end up with a calcified class system that keeps people doing shitty but necessary jobs trapped doing them forever.
