I got smacked with a wooden spoon as a child, and I turned out the way I did because I was diagnosed with depression at age 7 (I spoke about wanting to die and how my insides felt like they were rotting to a pediatric psychiatrist, and I genuinely meant it) and autism at age 12, then tested as having an IQ in the top 1% in my late teens.

From a young age, I was extremely tired, and felt bad for everybody around me for needing to exist. I remember, there was this disgusting, smelly poor kid in my class who lied about EVERYTHING. He'd lie about having a pet wolf, or going to Disneyland, or riding a motorcycle, and the other kids in my class hated him, and he hated them back and would try to beat them up. Even as a small child, when I looked at him, I just felt sad. Pity. I understood that he was just lying because he felt the need to, so people would respect or like him or think he was cool, and who was I to hate him for that? What value was there in hating such a person, a person who existed in such a pitiful state due to circumstances outside of his control?

Maybe I was just born a massive bitch, and nothing could change that.

To be fair, I only got the wooden spoon for doing pretty seriously bad things. For example, stealing. My parents treated stealing VERY seriously, and I stole something from a friend once, then lied to my parents about it, but they found the thing I stole (I hid it super badly under my bed) and I got a smack with the wooden spoon on my bum. I never really stole before that, and I can't even remember what I stole or why I stole it.

My parents especially my dad would come up with creative punishments and I unironically feel like the belt would've been nicer. My school would message my parents if I forgot to do homework and and as punishment my dad would lock me in this tiny windowless storage room we had, turn the lights off and just let me cry, scream, bang against the door for hours. I've been perma scarred on my right eye due to a quarrel I had with my parents when I was 5 desu. I've always been beaten up by my bullies and beat them back throughout my middleschool and I'm glad that happened to me otherwise I would've never become blackpilled on human nature. Teaching by fear and obedience does not create a self-sustainable person. You hit someone to teach, and when they grow up to be on their own, they need the fear of punishment as an incentive to learn or do anything. Unless they figure that out early, that's why these people who were belted as kids usually turn out to be broke, procrastinators and failures

I got mild wooden spoon treatment though the memories are vague. I don't think corporal punishment is the optimal way to raise children, though I don't think it will necessarily damage kids as long as its mild, it just depends on the context and severity and the nature of the kid and how their psychology will react which will always be different, but there are better and less riskier ways. Its usually the lazy easy method. I think more moderate to severe corporal punishment will fuck the kid up, most serial killers and criminals got beat up as kids for doing the wrong thing.

I got punished in bizarre ways as a child. Stabbed with needles and pins, had to endure six pins being in my body for an hour once. Had pepper oil rubbed in my eyes. Shit like that.

i stole a magazine with a scorpion on it once, for the record i thought it was free and that mom was just being mean not letting me have it so i hid it under my shirt and walked out the door, i don't remember if i actually looked inside tho because i remember tearing it up and throwing it away when i heard police sirens pass the house.

When I was a kid, I dropped a tissue pack on the floor and was told to pick it up. I was too stupid to understand that it wasn't litter just because it was on the floor, it could be reused. I was too scared to ask my parents this question because I was afraid it was so stupid, they'd think I was messing with them. I don't know what the moral of this story is except that I'm retarded.

I was tested and got something around 130 in my late teens.
You gotta understand that most people don't think about what they view as mundane the same way you do. At some point my social skills fell off a cliff in my 20s and despite gfs and sex and other shit, nothing ever got better. I don't know what it is exactly, but something about this absurd world is just depressing. Some people would say it's an amazing place, others think it's horrible, but really it's all just absurd.

My parents didn't know better at the time but it was not good. How do you think it affects a young boys brain to be punished by a stronger person, I personally feel it made me more timid and less outgoing. In a way I guess you could say I forgive them, I looked into it and society told parents your kids would be little spoiled brats if you didn't hit them.
