It's so crazy how in the beginning of the 20th century millions and millions of people died through war, genocide, famine or because they had to work themselves to death in labor camps. Stalin was really right when he said

It is crazy. I find the theory of.evolution and natural selection fascinating. It's terrifying imagining all the life, human or otherwise, which has died in a never ending number of ways over billions of years. It makes my life and everyone else's seem incredibly insignificant as well though. If I die without passing on my genes then I know I won't be the first or the last to fail to do so.

Except industrial war isn't natural and all conflicts since at least WW1 have been dysgenic.
