Day 2 of learning the guitar
I think I got a bit better with picking, but I'm still not that good. I learned a few more notes. My fingers hurt again, but I'm sure I'll get used to it soon! The book didn't teach me any chords yet. I think that will be the fun part.

If you haven't learned it by now you should just quit

>My fingers hurt again
You will develop calluses and it will go away eventually. I don't really feel pain anymore from playing.
Good luck, getting throuhg the first year of guitar is prob the biggest obstacle

I practiced guitar for a few months and got over the period where my fingers hurt. But I fell out of it, because I absolutely abhorred the song suggestions in the tutorial I was following. I detest 99.9% of pop music, and that's essentially what you have to learn when you're starting out, because it's simple and goes over the beginner concepts.

you don't have to, you can just look up a song you like on chordify and 99% of the time it's right.

The problem is, that I don't know whether a song I'd like to learn is appropriate to internalize the concepts I'm introduced to in a given week of practice. Plus I mostly listen to extreme metal, and while it's not the pinnacle of difficulty, it's very far from e.g. utilizing only basic chords. I could just say "fuck it" and try to learn whatever on my own, but then you develop bad habits, you don't follow an appropriate difficulty curve, and you don't learn any theory.

nice job anon, keep it up and you'll be able to play a full song in no time. also dont get excited about playing chords... most of the time they're really annoying
