i only use r9k. soc kinda seems like a nightmare and feels really inorganic. talking to people on r9k and getting to know them and building up to talking off site feel a lot more natural with less chance to be someone's temporary emotional tampon because they're openly advertising for rapid turnover relationships on 4chan. unfortunately, it does mean setting yourself apart to be recognizable from other anons so people can get to know you from thread to thread. you don't necessarily have to namefag, but having something that makes your posts stand out, whether it's regularly mentioning a specific detail about yourself or your life ('oh, it's [eastern euro college student] anon'), or skirting the avatar/signature rules by associating yourself with a specific character or turn of phrase you always use in your posts. or, if you're an actually interesting person, you can just stand out by being charming and charismatic and engaging with people and leaving strong impressions with them that they will remember and recognize when they see you being charming and charismatic in other threads and speaking on topics they recognize from before. all that said, i have no clue what the female dating stock is like here on r9k. that's one you'll have to ask around about, and im sure it's going to be a mixed bag of experiences with a generally negative tilt. it'd be good to put out more details about the kind of girls you're interested in. virgin is a strong start, but really dive into what you mean by be a weirdo with. also, don't just give a list of traits you're looking for in a partner, share about yourself, as well. the things that you enjoy, your level of experience with different aspects of life. give some insight into who is a girl who might tick the boxes for you would be getting involved with and if you tick her boxes, give and take. i really hope you get to experience something out of this, one way or another, and that it's a positive one
