We're already on the boat, anon
You and me, we're the ones rowing the oars
The overseer up there with the whip? He's getting there but he's still got a few years left
When he dies, will we be free? Not likely, one of us will pick up his whip and assume the role
There's no way off of this ship, but occasionally I stop rowing and I head up the deck so I can gaze upon the stars
Sometimes I go back down below deck and observe everyone around me, and in that moment I'll find folks like who've stopped rowing
I'll talk to 'em, hang out with 'em for a while, invite 'em up to see the stars too
But the ship never stops, and the seas are never calm
