SSI and Working
Any experience keeping your stuff secret?

I'm getting a check for roughly 4k. I receive SSI. My employer has my social security number and will be filing me as an employee. Is there anyway I can get away with not reporting the money to Social Security? What are my chances if I immediately take the money out of the bank? Moreover, I'd be forced to pay taxes. I don't want to lose my lifeline, and the work I did was seasonal. I doubt I can hold another job.

My niece is on ss so I have a little knowledge in it. If your money is reported from the employer the social security office figures it out within 3 to 6 months I'm pretty sure. It's all automated at this point. From my understanding everything past something like $69 you lose 50 cents on every dollar. That is until you lose your money for the month. Not sure if it extends past that month. You won't receive your income about 2 months after it is reported though. If you show that you are able to work that triggers a review to happen and if it's proven that you are capable of working then you lose your social security.

There might be a dollar amount that you just straight up lose your benefits as well. But I'm not positive on that.

are you retarded, nonny? unless you get paid in cash and your employer reports nothing, you can't keep your earnings secret.

This shit has me so stressed I'm debating burning the check. I'm already homeless.

This shit will kill me. I've been homeless for 4 years. I just wanted to fix my car.

Guess I'll die, then. Not sure how people ever qualify for disability then when they're born with their issue. I'm a schizo with no family. My entire life I have worked just over two months.

Don't. Your employer will report your income anyway, you will probably need the money to survive. You should ask someone who is well versed into this stuff, there's probably tons of forums dedicated to these questions. Are there social workers you can ask about this in your area?

There is no keeping it secret. If someone frauds as you, you can talk to OIG. The OIG will go and take care of them, even in this administration, they take that shit seriously. They want to lock the illegal up more than they want to cut your benefits off.

Freeze your credit, check your statement regularly also. And stop trying to run fraud on SS. It's disgusting.

I don't know. One mental health group is trying to get me a house, but it took a month to just get a return call. I may be fucked.

Fuck you. I'm schizophrenic because the system failed me. I've worked a little over two months in my life at nearly 30 precisely because I can't hold a job. The only reason I could do this one was because I took out a personal loan, flew to Alaska and worked a job where I couldn't get fired without it costing my employer more than my working poorly.

I don't know how people expect people like me to live when I've had my issue for forever, and SSDI requires work over a fucking year of work experience. Average rent where I live is 1,300. I can't afford a place even with my SSI. I lost my apartment nearly 4 years ago, and have been homeless since.

Between that loan and my car maintenance, I will legitimately be left with almost nothing. Fuck your moral grandstanding. There's 10s of millions of illegals, and over 55 million visa holders. Everything is manufactured, nothing is real.

So chat gpt is saying you don't lose benefits so
Don't burn the check. Cash it and make an appointment with the ss office to talk to them about it.

I just hope I didn't make enough to lose it completely, or for them to suspect I'm being actually capable of holding a job. I literally desperately need SSDI, but it's a catch-22 situation. Fucking other anon saying I'm trying to be fraudulent. Thank you.

I genuinely have no idea how people manage. I have never disassociated so hard in my life as when I was on that boat working. I literally couldn't tell where I was when I would woke up towards the end of it.

I feel like my blood is filled with fire, and my arms are covered in ants. It's all so fucking bizarre. I spent 45 days working and I mechanically learned nothing. I can't retain technical information at all. Covid fucked my life up so bad. If my landlord wasn't forced to sell his rentals, I could still be in that efficiency apartment.

I'm turning 30 with nothing. Too much pain.

I still cannot stand this post. I remember reading how illegals in NYC were getting more money from New York than I get in SSI. I who was born here and abused, given less care than literally illegals. Or how there's programs that give them priority housing, cars, money and food stamps, relocation help. Fuck you.
