I'll never let it down with mine and it needs to happen more. They have 18 years of control in your life, if you turn out fucked up -- they're 100% to blame. I'm at the point in my adulthood, where after years of being blamed for my own poverty I like to remind my parents I inherited theirs because they thought bootstrapping me with nothing but college debt 17 was a good money-saving idea for themselves.

I blame my parents quite a bit finally, but it really doesn't matter in the end. Just because your parents fucked your life, doesn't mean people are slightly more sympathetic to you or want to give you a chance. In the end, whether or not it's your own fault or someone else's fault is irrelevant, since it's only you who suffer from the result in the end.

There were many things that were my fault but also a lot of things out of my control and I'm not entirely sure how much of my negative mental state was influenced by birth circumstances. I'm so angry and unhappy that I don't want kids and it boggles my mind that there are people seemingly happy enough to want to have kids, what's the point in having children if you know they'll be miserable

You can definitely blame your parents on how you turned out. You're basically not in control of your own life and destiny until you're 18, since usually you follow their rules until you can leave. There's also nothing you can do if they feed you a bad diet, causing you to miss out on nutrients during development. Or they physical abuse you, causing you to not develop properly or become beta.

Once you leave though, you can kinda start to fix yourself but you will always have those issues stuck with you. My dad beat me up when I was a kid. It's made me really meek and beta to be honest. I tried going the gym at a point in my life so that I could never be "beat up again" but I realised that even though I got bigger, my mindset of being weak was really hard to change, as it was stuck with me since childhood.

My mom is literally single handedly responsible for ruining my life because she smoked a pack a day while pregnant (and she's not some trailer trash hick, she has a PhD, so she fully knew).
