I believed in the afterlife - my suffering in this world would be ok as long as I would have a happy ending in the afterlife

Lately that belief is very shaky for me as well. It seems this life is it?

If it gets better, it might as well be true. If it justifies suffering, it might as well be hell. Meaning is everywhere, it's you that attaches to it.

Im pretty sure an afterlife exists, or that spirit/consciousness is immortal. However, I don't really live my life virtuously with this idea of eternity in mind.
The reason I believe this is the consideration of the legitimateness of higher level dimensions. Imagine how a 2D flipbook exist as a 3D object (collection of pages and drawings), then extrapolate that to 3D reality + time.
