There are a few other cities that are actually shittier overall, but none so large, famous and wealthy. I think that's what makes it so uniquely depressing. The wealth inequality there is staggering. Millennials have nothing to look forward to and nothing to look back on. Life is a muddied blur of work-drink-pass out-repeat. It might be simple but I starve myself so food sounds more appealing. Could just be a rare steak and mushrooms fried in butter, but it feels like a foodfag thing when I finally drag myself in front of the stove. It's the highlight of the week, the only notable thing done. Food costs like $100/wk even if you only make some kind of pan seared meat or fish + mushrooms, maybe some potato or vegetable. Box wine is at least $40/week. That's over $7,000 a year, turned into shit and piss.
If it's the only enjoyable thing in life you might as well enjoy it all the way. Lamb is nearly $10/lb and beef is so expensive I'm resorting to poorfag cuts like sirloin instead of ribeye. Shits getting grim. If I can't afford anything but food then why even work? Might as well be a farmer, food quality goes up dramatically and work gets a lot easier and less stressful. The wages of waging is death. This is hell.
