So no he isn't ignoring me.. his phone is turned off. His ass is back in the slammer.... wow....

If you don't learn from this experience then yes, you are. There are a lot of people who will act very nice to you in order to manipulate you into doing this or that. It's easy to weed them out, just refuse to do as they as say a few times and see how they take it. Obsession is very fun but it turns into freaking out over you having friends or following a guy that's a red flag.

Some might, but most people like that want to own a plaything. They'll just use you up and spit you out later. Love is a softer thing, it can still include obsession or possession but needs to also see you as a human being. It's a difficult thing to find and not entirely safe.

No, that's not what I'm saying. It's just that most people who are into that are psychopaths who won't be interested in loving you. You need to find ways to sniff them out. Don't give in to them immediately, set boundaries and see if they're willing to respect them. Boundaries are probably the best way to do it, just pick some arbitrary things and if they try to chip away at them, get rid of that person. Even if you don't want boundaries at all, do that until you get an idea of whether you can really trust them and then tell them you don't need the boundaries anymore.
