My pizza hut got rid of its booth seating and the chandeliers. And replaced with cheap chairs. For some reason, hopefully not a pointless one.

It doesn't make sense to me because they still provided tables now, and the booths don't require any more maintenance as far as I know. They were just using half of them for storage anyway up until this point.

It feels like owners just take things away for no good reason. Like property owners cutting beautiful healthy trees people see every day.

It's to cut down on wagies. Less staff needed if you're just a kitchen with a cash register instead of a full restaurant, especially once automation reaches the point it can replace kitchen jobs. They'll probably get rid of the register as well and tell you to just order online.
