Nearly free or often times flat out free housing in the center of one of the wealthiest places on Earth. Not far from some of the best education the West had to offer at the time. You could catch a bus to a high paying city job or you could attend one of the best universities in the world. Perfect opportunity to set your family up with generational success. It sounds beautiful, right? Except none of that happened. Rather it was turned into a war zone that had to be demolished to stop the violence but all they accomplished was spreading it across South side Chicago. Now look at the South side today. Those who don't know their history are doomed to repeat over and over again.
