Don't look for romance purely online, period. Dating apps are mostly a scam but you at least have the potential to meet up in person within a bit of driving. No such guarantee on things like discord. It's heartbreak waiting to happen.

I've done both. In person relationships are objectively superior in literally every metric. There is ZERO, and i truly do mean ZERO substitute to seeing someone in person. There is so much non-verbal communication lost by not being there physically with a person. Even a video call does not cut it.
