Titanic is weirdly fascinating to me because while Rose wasn't exactly unhappy in her marriage, it was an "I like him because he's nice" subversion a lot of people on here yearn for; Jack "won" her over with his personality, which contrasts with the real world where looks come first and vapid women marry for money instead of dating people for people. She probably thought he looked better, too. Cal was a pompous dick, but the lesson to take away is cheating doesn't justify choosing the "right" man regardless of his character or status.
