Their culpability being muddied makes their punishments make more sense though? They WERE being manipulated (sans the brother) but also all still had the mental faculties left that they must have willingly chosen to support Pina over Emi for their own personal reasons, they weren't just completely out of it but had clear logic and original emotion behind their actions.

Still, after the initial incident ousting Emi, equivalent to false charges, they didn't really do anything to her, that was 99% Pina and other bad guys, so they 'get off' with losing things like inheritance or status, which for rich noble fucks is about as good as you can expect for that time period. (Also Remilia kind of had to set the finale confrontation up that way in order to heap most of the blame possible on Pina so she would get the actual horrible punishment for instigating everything.)
