A bad creative habit of Murata I find is shoving irrelevant characters into places. Most ONE scenes just have a handful of major characters having their highlight moments. This is still the case in an arc as hectic as the current one. But Murata has to give the jobbers reaction faces and cliched shounen babbling.
Take the psychic arc for example. The HA moster prision scene originally only had Saitama, Tats, and Fubuki conscious and the story flow uninterrupted. In the manga version, it was a shitfest with the OC psychic organisation, the A-class heroes budging in, and the entire Fubuki group who got their best moment ruined. It made the whole scene a distracting mess.
