I liked the giants as the final antagonists. I feel like the ending would've been better if there were one or two more issues establishing WHY there's a doomsday final showdown with the giant warrior hero.

Like, have him escape and seize the ship's fortified command center or something at least. Maybe it has checkpoints that automatically confiscate guns or something, IDK at least TRY to provide even a half-assed reason for the cool climatic showdown.
