Japan does not do anything except mono-romances. Not in the shounen romance genre anyway. In shoujo and in Western romances it's possible for the main couple to take romantic detours with other characters, but this is SIMPLY NOT A THING in shounen romances. The main couple in this story is Nuku and Anna. Neither one of them will even be TEMPTED to go with another character. Sousuke could literally kabedon Anna and declare his love for her after declaring having broken up with Karen and she would stone-cold reject him on the spot. Karen could drag Nuku to a love hotel on Christmas Eve and strip naked while telling him she can't live without him and he wouldn't even THINK about the possibility of accepting. That's is probably going to happen in the final arc of this romcom and you'll all eat it up and screech about how the "worst girl" won yet again. You people will be squirming in suspense waiting for the final chapter because you don't understand basic JP genre law. And running up to the final arc each of the losers and their respective winners have a similair event where the winner makes a play for Nuku and the loser runs away in despair -- I can't wait to see /a/ lose their minds each time Nuku rejects a girl.
