Shibuya was still character focused. The payoffs werent' always there yet but it felt like we were getting close.
The plot was good, Mahito was a great villain
But after it ended the story felt... directionless?
No more character moments and growth, just fights, and these fights were not with cool recurring characters like Mahito, but with literally who's from 1000 years ago.
Megumi's potential? Wasted, disappeared, annihilated. Any hinted plot point or power up completely thrown in the trash
Maki and Mai's arc? 3 charpters long, with one of the guy becoming a bullshit curse later on after having already lost any emotional impact
It just felt like a different series.
