FSM was the consequence of his choice against Cockroach devil; he chose neither btw. Nayuta dying was the consequence of his choices; he chose to be chainsawman, after regretting his choice to give up csm to save Nayuta.
Everything else was relatively meaningless. There really wasn’t even a choice to be made during the aging arc. The choice in aquarium arc was Asa’s to make; turn Denji into a weapon or not. And there was no choice to be made during prison break. The choices to be made during Yuko’s arc were also all Asa’s to make.
I feel like this emphasis on choice actually came out of nowhere and Fujimoto just kind of pulled it out of his ass. Choices are an integral part of every story; a character isn’t a character if they don’t make choices and face the consequences of them throughout the course of a story. I just don’t think he ever really had a plan; his comments about how he writes stories to be exciting and doesn’t care about character motivations or plot really shit on the fans who think this is all coming together or that Fujimoto is a genius.
