Pretty Sammy is hard carried by Pixy Misa for a lot of its runtime but damn is she entertaining. Somehow Pretty Sammy is it's own microcosm of the Tenchi Muyo continuity problem. There's the original one-off episode, the radio plays, the OVAs, the TV series, and the novels which combine the TV and OVA continuities then decides to go out on a downer ending. Then there was a failed pitch for a sequel to the tv series which had a timeskip the same length as the novels did. I would have liked to see that continued, I was pretty invested in the tv series by the end.
