That's because the anime added arcs from the manga, but with different resolutions and without changing the personalities from the novel, which I honestly appreciate. It's like the anime goes into different spectrums of the Hikki world. Addiction to videogames (mmos), pornography, internet culture, visual novels and 2D in general, etc. The novel seems so short it would be hard to get 24 episodes out of it.
